Brian, Do you have any pics of the coin door "after" the restoration? I assume, from the photo, that you had it sandblasted. What did you do to it after that? And did you remove the Cinematronics logo and do anything special with that? I am about to start a pretty severe DL restoration and I am hoping it comes out as nice as yours.

The coin door was stripped to the bare metal, then repainted with black spray paint. Trick is to practice pushing down the nozzle *just* enough until it spits the paint instead of spraying.. a few coats of the spit effect and you get the original powdercoat look to a t.

I also had good luck using Rustoleum Black Satin "textured" paint on the coin door...it matched the original finish, to me.

What did you use for the sides? Looks like vinyl. Where can I buy some.

Try Happ controls for 'black morocco' vinyl.. or go to dragonslairproject.com in the classifieds.

what do you use to adhere the vinyl?
Brian - 9/12/2006 9:34:41 PM
You don't need anything but pressure and time to adhere the vinyl.. Adhesives are pressure sensitive and need time to cure, so really roller or squeegee the vinyl down and give it a day before trimming.
