Project:Screw Loose Rare Images
Project Started:8/21/2006Project Status:Sold

Goal of Project:
Some amazing screen grabs from Tim Skelly himself!
Description:
These are some very interesting 'in development' shots taken from some VHS tapes that Tim Skelly recorded in the early 80's while developing Screw Loose! A short video .
Pictures:
This first image is from a very early revision it seems.. the only enemy is a worm like thing with a Cheeky Mouse looking head. Through all the footage of this, nothing else shows on screen. Perhaps it was a functional demo?
There he is, for the first time ever, you can see 'Fletcher', Robop's faithful dog companion as seen in the logo at the top of this page. Note the characters are very different from known roms.
Here you see one of Fletcher's bones.. bones are what you collect to Call Fletcher to help you gather your hands! In the version of the roms I have, you have a power up button that basically speeds Robop up enough to grab his own hands! In this version, Fletcher gets them for you!
This last shot is from the more familiar version I have in my running machine that has a 'big bopper' theme it seems with the spinning records.

Woa...how did you get these footages? Do you know Skelly the game man?

He sure does know Skelly the game man! ;>) I just wanted to add a couple comments on the various versions of the game. The "Cheeky Mouse" is actually a sea serpent, or was intended to be one. ;>) It required two sprites instead of one, so I dropped it early on. Maintaining frame rate was a major reason for removing Fletcher. He took up too many assets. Great cab Brian put together, eh? Tim
